DTC P1655 EVAP Purge Solenoid Control Circuit

Is this a type of code that is stored and will not go away unless the codes are cleared, or will it go away once the condition has been resolved? I am getting only this code, and this is keeping me from passing emissions. I replaced the purge valve, but still have the SES light. Bah...
 


I left the battery disconnected for an hour, a couple times last night and the code reappeared as soon as the car started. I left the battery disconnected overnight, and no more SES light. That was the only code it was throwing, so hopefully once it completes the drive cycle it'll be good to pass emissions.
