droppy mufflers

I was wondering is there is any way to raise the exhaust system/mufflers so that the tailpipes are closer to the bumper. I recently got a new exhaust system installed (dynomax) and it kinda really bothers me how far down the tips are from the bumper. So is there any way to fix this issue? Thanks for any input.

Have you checked the condition of your exhaust donuts and insulators?

Edit: ninja'd by bill and fivefingers

the hangers that are on there now are the ones that came with the system. I was going to buy new ones from autozone. Only prob was that when i asked the mechanic that i went to about this problem. He kept saying that "there is no way to fix that issue, its just how the car was made". I kinda walked away thinking that this guy was just being lazy.

Does it matter what kind of hangers that i buy? cause i was going to just get universal ones from autozone or pepboys and put them on myself.

Thanks for the responses.

It shouldn't. I've used walkers for replacement and haven't had any issues.

Edit: make sure they're compatible with your car

I was missing one and noticed the passenger side was hanging lower. I just went ahead and replaced them both and since they're pretty cheap it's worth a try

Not to hijack the thred, but rather than start a new one...

How much flex should there be in the exhaust sys/hangers???

Reason being I ask is this: I replaced the mufflers with Hooker S/S Max-flows (sound great By the way...) but they hand no hanger bars on them, so I also ordered and used, quite creatively mind you, a few walker hangers.

They do have a small piece of rubber separating the clamp from the support bracket, but the overall effect is it is less giving than the stock supports. With the side mounted engine and given movement of it along with the exhaust sys attached to it, will this present any issues?

Appreciate your thoughts!
thanks

i would think it to be fine, they will be flappin around pretty soon.

for the price of those hangers you probly coulda found someone to weld hangers on your mufflers. threaded rod is very cheap if you or a friend has a 120v welder

My point is... There's no room for flapping. Lol... Only about 1/2" of travel with that little piece of rubber on the strap.

$8 for them... Not an overly large expense, but yeah, I could've welded some rod onto the muff's, if the lack of movement causes issues, then I probably will have to.

What I've had in my phone.. these aren't recent (ignore crocked tips its been fixed since)

It was a Walker from advance..should be the only one that's compatible with the GP when you input your vehicle it was like $4 each IIRC.

Ill see if I can find you the p/n later
