DRL from Headlights to Amber turn signals

As the title states... I'm looking to add HID's, so my question is how do I re-wire my DRL's to come on with the turn signals like the earlier 04+ GP's? I'd like to retain my auto lamps as well. I've searched with no answers. Thanks.
 


Right but the only problem with that is the tailights illuminate as well as the dash lights. I like the look of the 04-05's with the Amber front parking lights as the DRL's. Is it a PCM thing, or can I wire up something to convert my 08 to the 04-05 DRL setup?

This writeup does no good to those of use with 06+ GP as our headlight switch is within the turn signal stalk and not easily accessible and there is no option on the DIC to change DRL either, I too would like to do this with my 06 but cannot locate the proper writeup. I believe that the DRL function is part of the BCM programming and that is how it must be changed, I may me wrong though, wouldn't be the first time

Exactly @ simbah. I looked at that write up as well, and I don't think it works. So now the question is can the BCM programming be altered to the 04-05 programming just for the DRL, and nothing else?
 
06+'s can also have the amber drl's. I've been keeping an eye out on other cars and it seems that if the car has fog lights then it has the amber drl's but if it does not have the split fog lights then the headlamps will be the drl's. I have an 08 that does not have fog lights and I've also wanted to get the ambers as the drl's. So I'm not sure how we would re-route our drl's but that is what I have noticed on other cars. I've decided just to leave it how it is since some of the write ups seem pretty complicated with all of the splicing and stuff. I don't really want to get into all of that but if that's for you then I would sure like to see the end result. ;)
 
I've been waiting to see instructions on how to do this as well. Nothing yet in the past four plus years.
 


hmm so apparently there are some 06+ with drl headlamps and some with drl ambers. I know the ones I've seen were 06+ because of the gm badges on the front fenders. back to square one lol
