Driver side door won't open

Paranoid

Does anyone have any tips/suggestions on removing the door panel without being able to open the door? I'm beginning to think I'll need to cut out the door handle. It's a 96 GP SE 3100.

Let's just say this is also the last time I buy anything from Auto Zone.

what did you replace? the lock, locking rods or handle and linkage?

getting the inside door panel off with the door closed is not gonna happen. not with out cutting it up like you said. unless you can get a hooked rod in there and grab some linkage.

I replaced the door handle. It took a lot of adjustment and still never worked right. I'm hoping I can just cut it out and grab onto something to get it open. It locks and unlocks fine, it just doesn't open from the inside or outside.

I'm confused.

You put the door back together without testing it?

Where were your issues? And what are the issues now?

Why was the handle replaced?

It won't open from inside or out?

There's a pin that probably came loose just behind your inside handle.

I don't know about Grand Prixs, but I could get to it on my cutlass with the panel intact.

No surprise

What if he tested it and then put it together, changes nothing about his issue

Good question on what was the issue, clearly the door won't open from either handle is the current problem.

You just asked that

That's what he said

I'd kinda expect you to post the nice parts diagram showing the likely pin/problem area. C'mon man.. get that diagram

He gets all butthurt and threatens me with an infraction over a Monty Python quote, then posts nothing but troll comments towards me thereafter.

Ah to be a little kid again.

Never had to deal with penis envy though. =)

I tested it and it worked fine for about 2 weeks.

The part of the handle that you pull to open the door broke in a way that required the entire door handle to be replaced.

The issue now is the door won't open at all, inside or out.

I will use the schematic (thank you) to see if I can find said pin. If so, you're my hero. However, I am unable to get the exterior door handle off without brute force.
