Just wanted to share what happen to me today!!! So start out...My daughter didn't go to school today she was throwing up and all that good stuff that goes with it! Well 8am this morning I call her Doctor they say they are full and I owe a past due balance of 10.00 and if I could bring in that 10.00 they can refer me to another doctor. I asked the lady when was this charged she said Nov 08 it was a no show fee..I was like umm...I was just in there the end of Aug and was told NOTHING about a 10.00 charge Dr.Wilison actually SEEN Kaylin and I paid my co-payment. She said well we are sorry we must of missed it! And I was like well why havent I got a letter in the mail? Or for the fact why is this almost a YEAR and im just not hearing about it?! And she said they must of over looked it! Well I know my daughter has been seen atleast 5 times since Nov! She then again told me if you will bring inthe 10.00 we can refer you to primecare. I let the lady know I dont need her to refer me Kaylin has been there before! She again started on the whole I need to pay and thats when I just asked her do they just randomly wanna make extra money and charge people 10.00 bucks! I mean ya 10.00 not a big deal! But your asking for it almost a YEAR later!!! If it SOOOOOOOOO important NOW why wasent it then?! Why haveent I got a letter...anyways! The convo ended with me telling her to pretty much shove the 10.00 up her ass! My mom said I could have been a little bit more nice and my mom said I should go pay the 10.00 but IMO I for one really don't think I owe 10.00 like I said if I did why is it a year later and they just now saying something about it! Sooo what should I do guys? Suck it up and pay 10.00 or just take her to her other doctor from now on?
 


You ask them to show you an itemized report from the first date it was due to proove it was due a the time they "say" it was. If they can't provide proof then don't pay, and find another doctor, because they are BULL*****ing you. I would probably calll thier bluff on it and tell them I am going to report their frivoilous practices.
Beasuce if you have proof you have seen them multiple times and the $10 has not been asked for, that puts the ace in your hand right there.

Ya I have proof they charge my insurance everytime and I pay a 10.00 co-pay. And its a no show fee..wtf is that?! And im pretty sure if I made a appointment with them I took her in!
 
That sounds unlikely to me that they would "overlook" it. They should have a computer system just like any other doctors office that should show an outstanding balance when they entered your daughters name in.

If you have a statement that shows charges to your insurance for that visit, bring it in with you to show them. Otherwise call the ins. company and ask them to fax a copy to you or the doctor's office.
