Downpipe and Cat removal

I was told that if you cut the Downpipe out that I will gain bout 4-7 hp. I was wondering if this is true? As far as cutting the Cat off would my gas mileage go down? I know that it will be alot louder but I like the way it sounds about 2200 rpm's. If you could let me know about that it would be great.

Look into replacing your OEM downpipe with an aftermarket that has the ubend removed or put in a ubend removal piece.

It's a little louder without the cat and u-bend, but it is low pitched still, and sounds better than stock

I am wanting the low pitch sound. I can not stand that little ricer burner sound lol.

I'm not sure if the different sound I got from a downpipe/cat replacement on my GP is from the swap or a rusty resonator. Not saying a don't like it, and replaced the DP/cat for the u-bend removal, not the sound. If I want a loud car, I'll drive my Impala.
