Dose HUD effect the replacement windshield i need?

Ive been searching around for a windshield for my 04 gtp. everyone ive talked to who has quoted me a price asked me if it has HUD, witch it dose, and the price for the one with HUD is 2x the price of the one without. so my question is, do i have to get the one for HUD? or can i get the other? and if i get the other will i still be able to see the HUD on the windshield?
 


The hud windshield has something on it so it displays it clearly. Some people say with a normal windshield it will appear hazy, others notice no difference. I just got my windshield replaced today and went with the normal windshield as I dont care for the hud.
 
It's about glare. I have HUD and put a normal windshield in, it's not really a big deal. You'll see the hud, just not when the sun is beating straight down on it.
 
I had a buddy who added HUD to a gt an he said it was like ghosted, like a double image real close to the other sometimes. I have to buy a windshield for my GXP and I will be going with the regular one instead of the HUD one. Just not worth the extra coin to me...
 
ok thanks thats what i thought but i wasnt sure. i only use the HUD at night so i wont have to worry about the sun. lol thanks for the help
 


its actually a messed up story how it cracked. the spring in my HUD came loose and i couldnt move it. so i was taking the front part of the dash off that covers the HUD and when i pried it up i hit the windshield, not even hard, and is cracked 4 ways...... but i got the HUD fixed lol
 
Yeah that "ghosted" thing doesn't even happen to me. It's honestly something you'll never really notice...

and driving at noon sucks

has anyone modified their hud to out brighter?
it should just be a backlight lcd correct?
 
so i got the windshield replaced today and i can tell the diff. its nothing bad it just looks a little hazy. but id rather it be hazy then pay 2x the price.
^^^this is a good idea has anyone herd of this being done?
 


612?! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAA, there is only like a 40-50$ difference between hud and reg, atleast where I am at.
 


It's about double here, I've called a good number of places for quotes. The place I'm gonna have do mine was like $175 I think for the regular

I added a HUD to a my 2007 gt have some ghosting at time but still see it good. I got a chip my windshield (Dam salt truck!) I check out a few shops and i found one HUD windshield $228 that is $18.50 more than a non HUD one just have to order it and it takes three weeks.:cool:
