Door Lock Problem

My passenger side door lock wont lock at all. Not by the lock button or manually locking. Its very stiff when I try to lock it manually, and when it does move it goes right back into unlocked position. I dont know much about locks or even this car just bought it a few days ago. But I want to get it fixed before I start modding it. Last thing I need is it get stolen, and I live in the city. Please help, its 99 Grand Prix 4 door GTP if that matters.

Sounds like the lock rod may be bent out of shape and binding up on something inside the door. Pull the panel and see what it might be hitting.

had the same problem with mine. ended up being the door lock solenoid. be warned, anything to do with inside the door is going to be a serious pita!! make darn sure you know where all the rods go to before disassembly. take pics if you have to. good luck!!

I know I rigged it enough to where I can get it open and closing. It still wont lock but im through messin with it. I usually fix everything on my own but this is a pita. Ill just have someone do it professionally..
