Don't Bite from the Hands that Feed You

SubwayGuy

Who is this guy?
Ah, the famous quote "Don't bite from the hands that feed you." Well, today I found out that quote is true...

Went to the junkyard today to get some parts for a member on here. Got a few interior parts, a pass. side mirror, and was about to call it quits until I found an L32 GT. I remembered the guy wanted injectors from an L32 so I thought this was the perfect opportunity. Well the front end was smashed to hell and pushed the motor pretty far back. I was only able to get the front 3 injectors and called it good. Headed back to the counter and was only gonna pay for one interior piece to try and save some cash. Price was $5, but I only had my card on me and they don't do transactions with a card for $5. So he just let me have it. But as soon as I put it in my pocket, he asked if I had anything in my pockets.

And here's where the quote comes into play. I said I've got my phone and wallet (which I actually did). Then he asked to see inside my tool box. And that's when I knew it was game over. Found the 3 injectors right on top. Thankfully, he was really chill about it. He said that you have to pay for all stolen items in cash, but since I didn't have cash, he told me to just take the 3 injectors. I said no, it's my fault, it's the least I could do. So I returned the injectors and was on my way. It's a good thing he didn't look under the tray or else he'd find the mirror and other interior parts.

I will never steal from there again as I for sure learned my lesson. And yes, it could have gone way worse, as in police being involved. But I caught a break and for sure learned my lesson. Please learn form my mistake. I knew it would come to bite me in the ass, but didn't know exactly when. This place doesn't always check boxes so I never thought it would happen to me, but guess what. I was wrong wasn't I?

And the reason he checked my box, was he said my hands were dirty. And for that happening while only getting interior parts, is gonna happen. So if you do plan on stealing (which I highly don't suggest), wash your damn hands lol.

Ehh they make enough off scrap and selling larger items and entry fees anyways usually little **** they can care less for, sounds like someone doing there job to damn well. Local yards have signs posted that they can search your bckpack\toolbox etc I have yet to see someone actually do it and hell I've probably been there 70-100 times. I wouldn't go stealing **** for other people you let them know what the yard charges and have them pay accordingly if its to much then you just decline

Yeah, I think he wasn't too mad since it was only $30 for 3 injectors. But the place I go to doesn't have any sign or anything that they'll check your box, but that doesn't mean they won't, as I have found out. I threw those other parts in to try and make more money. If I don't have to pay for anything, it's instant profit, ya know?

And I'm glad it happen, because it really opened up my eyes.

You are the reason it costs $0.13 for a washer at the hardware store. Three cents to cover the actual cost of the washer, and another dime to cover the three you stole.

I used to work in Army Aviation. at my last job if someone couldn't be trusted, they couldn't work there. integrity is getting to be a difficult attribute to find in people. I'm glad you learned your lesson, but some mistakes you can only make one time. better to never make the mistake in the first place.

Exactly. I mean I'm sure that place doesn't trust me one bit, but that's what I get.

This. Its ****ing garbage. Cars are scraped daily. Nothing stays in the yard more then 14
days.
You're quite literally garbage picking and donating money

Dude. didnt you bring those parts inside the yard so you knew what to look for and match them
up?

Lol, yep. I took 3 injectors, a mirror, a TCS button, and 2 vents all to compare xD. I was thinking of saying that, but it's not gonna work for injectors lol.

i did that once in a yard and it was because i had just forgotten i even had it in my bag it was cold as hell out and stuff and the prick took all my tools and everything

Not much.
was at their yard a few times with a bud a few years ago. They have always had attitudes, probably filters down the chain I'm sure.

I'm just glad they are no longer the dominant towing company and Prairieland is.
Fvcking pompous pricks. They always were considered mobsters back in the day.

Buy new, fvck those assholes. The prices I noticed were stupid
