• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Doing a build next month.

Hey forum! so i got a chunk of change laying around and want to throw some in my gtp. current mods are a custom 4" fwi, speed daddy headers, and tune by prjperformance, so i need some advice if i am doing good in where i want to go with my build and if i am covering all bases and who recommends what.

inter-cooling
I already have bought a machined lim and prj inter cooler. i need to get the rest of the kit do you think wbs intercooler install kit is enough and do you recommend their front mount or should i go another route.

valve train
i was thinking zzp's xpz cam but i am unsure if i need to machine my head or does the modified retainers work and is the 130# and 150# springs overkill?
comes with appropriate push-rods it says but what about lifters stock ok or need upgrade?
Or should i just go with the comp xp with 105#'s?
Obviously going to go with a double roller chain

pulley's
zzp mps 3.2? with above mods do i need to up my injectors?
oversize idler pulley

electronics/gauges
hp tuners (I'm a noob but will have to kill some time interweb searching on what to do)
AEM wide-band
AEM Boost
Aeroforce

mic parts
autolights 103s 180* t stat inter-cooler reservoir, belt, cam install gasket kit

think that is all please tell me what you think i am missing or over looking THANKS!:th_thumbsup-wink:

The XPZ is a great cam, you don't need any kind of machine work for the install. Stock pushrods and lifters are fine, don't use OE-Rs. 130# springs will be fine as well.

For the double roller make sure that you get a machined oil pump cover.

With intercooling pretty much just get the biggest FMHE that you can, looks like wbodystore covers the basics for an IC install.

For tuning you might want to start out with something like a 3.4" pulley to get a baseline tune. The 3.2" is good for what you're wanting to go for.

ok well looking around ppl where saying the xpz is a wast of money if you dont have ported heads... stock lifters i have seen being widely used... and got the machined pump cover... what about the 2 cover gaskets?? doesnt that cause a leaking issue?

oh big question injectors? do i need them and if so what size??

Had a brain fart, I was thinking XP lol. Get that one.

I don't know much about any leaking issues, all I know is that you are supposed to use one with the double roller. I assume it's because the chain and gears are thicker.

cleaned up your mod list. looks to be pretty complete. sounds like youre ready to put down a good chunk of money all at once. as for your questions:

a) stick with an xp, if seen people make similar power levels on an xpz after they switched from an xp. stick with 105# springs with these, just try and avoid comp springs.

b) youll probably need bigger injectors for this setup since youll be probably running less than a 3.2 in the end. i would also suggest buying more than one pulley (like a 3.4, 3.0 too).

what size injectors you guys think? Hey thanks for the clean up the parts list. stock tranny btw you think a shift kit is in order instead of just tuneing-in the pressurs?
