Does anyone have a roof rack?

I'm particularly interested if you have a roof rack AND a sunroof and how you have or have not made the two cooperate. I'm debating buying an INNO base rack system and then slowly acquiring the attachments for skis, bikes, cargo carrier, etc. I like the system because it doesn't bolt to the roof. I'm always using the GT to get me somewhere awesome to do something extreme, so I figure maybe I should outfit it a bit for that.

Does anyone have pics of their setup or know how high off of the roof these things sit?

there are roof racks that go on a grand prix? i have on on my impreza, but thats a different story.

Yeah some company INNO makes them and I think THULE has a similar design. It's pretty ingenious I think. Doesn't require any drilling and locks down to the car. The max weight is 120lbs...

Pic of the attachment to the roof is here:

I don't own one of these so I'm not endorsing it or anything, just trying to find out if anybody has tried it out.

What kind of rack do you have on the imprezza? I'm assuming its bolt on, those cars were designed more for that sort of thing

yeah, thats exactly how mine attaches to the car. i dont see how different it can be, so the rack will only sit off the car 4 or 5 inches. the attachments will sit higher up since they bolt onto the bars. my snowboard attachment locks in the snowboards at about 6 or 7 inches off the roof and the top of the attachment is probably 8 or 9 inches up at the top. hope that helps a little..

Thanks Bio.

Is it 4.5 inches total height of 4.5 inches to the bottom of the bar? I need to take some measurements I think of the lift of the sunroof and how far it moves back. From your numbers though it sounds like the sunroof would definitely be able to lift up and maybe even slide too.

Does yours have rubber contacts for the sides of those attachment brackets?

ill take some pictures and measurements for you later on today so you can see what im talking about. its still on my car because i dont know if i am going to need it for boarding yet this year or not.

here you go, the pictures i said i would get (yesterday):

hope that gets you the idea, the pictures arent that great, but they do the job.

Sweet. good info there thanks! This is on my list of stuff to acquire. Have you noticed any significant difference in gas mileage with and without the rack up there?

Thought I should update, I bought the INNO rack and it's getting plenty of use. I mount a ski attachments in the winter to rack up 6 pairs of skis. With my summer setup shown here I can load up the bike and surfboard. I could get another bike mount up there too if I wanted. Can still open the sunroof about 75% of the way until it bumps the rear crossbar.

This GP is such a great work horse.
