Do trango shift kits wear out?

I put in a transgo kit in a 2002 3.8 gt. The kit now has 100,000 miles on it and I am getting intermittent hard shifting and shuttering in 3-4 gears , this happens once a week and other times the car runs fine. I also get the p1811 code
Could this be my shift kit wearing out? Or is it another problem ?

sounds like the tranny is wearing out, try some trans medix type stuff, might help. you can suck a quart out via the dip stick tube with clear tubing easy enough so you dont over fill it.

The PCS may be on it's way out. At that mileage, could be either.

I got some homework for you!
Best read, I mean the very best reading you can find on the 4T65E and 4T65E-HD transmissions is TEP website:
http://www.tripleedgeperformance.com/Harsh-Shift-P1811.html

And find someone with HPTuners (or buy HPT and check the website for instructions on how to make adjustments to the PCM) A tune with increased line pressure will solve this issue. I had the same hard shifting issue on my 40th Anniversary and a tune took care of it

With 80,000 miles on the fluid, a change would help. Every 50,000 generally is recommended.

Probably not the full story, but worth a shot.

Thanks for all the info, this week I took it to Aamco and they told me solenoids were fine and that it could be something bad, so they suggested $1850 to rebuild the transmission, I told them forget it. When to an independent, told him the situation , he said start looking for a new car. Not worth the expense for a 2002 with 217,000 miles. Symptoms are pointing at pressure control solenoid. I am going to try and change that in the next few days.
any tips or advice?
