DIY Shift kit, still there after Professional rebuild?

04' GP with 259k on it. I installed a shift kit around 145k with a fluid change. Around 190k the tranny finally went. I had it rebuilt by a reputable place. I wanted to know if during the rebuild would they have removed or altered the shift kit at all, or can I assume it's still there. I plan on changing the fluid soon and might install another kit if it might not be there.

Let me know if there's a good chance that the component where the shift kit went was untouched by the rebuild, thanks.

The only one who can accurately answer you question is the person/persons that worked on your car. Sometimes, when a car comes in needing transmission work, the transmission is replaced with an identical unit already re-built, this provides less down time for the customer, and more profit for the shop. Generally, when an item like a transmission gets removed from the car and rebuilt, special guidelines are followed during reassembly, updates are performed, worn or known high failure rate items are replaced, torque converters are changed too, (if the shop is good). If your transmission had a "shift kit" installed before being serviced by a transmission shop, and unless it was specifically mentioned to those working on the unit to retain the pre-rebuild "modification", there is really no way of knowing.

How does your transmission shift "feel" after the rebuild?

what i would have done is spoke to them at the time of the rebuild, told them its got a kit and then asked them to reinstall it, or a new transgo kit with the internal parts as well.

Called them and they said they do the teardowns and would not have altered or touched a shift kit already installed.

Transgo on ebay aren't really that expensive, tbh. Could just have one on hand and sell it complete if it isn't needed. You're dropping the pan anyway.

Really wanna go through trying to save fresh fluid if it isn't in there? I wouldn't, lol

I will probably order a kit to make sure it's still there. But they informed me they will open everything up, but don't change any existing mods or changes there, so they say. I'll have a backup kit on hand and return it if everything is still there.
