DIY Install Remote Start on 2004 Grand Prix GTP Looking for help

Hey guys, yesterday while I nearly froze in my car while I waited for it to heat up, I looked up Remote Starter kits.

I have decided to purchase and install one myself, while getting the best bang for the buck.

Right now I'm looking at getting the Viper 5301 Responder used off of Ebay for hopefully around $50, as well as the DEI Bypass module 556uw.

If you guys know of better systems let me know, but this seems like a pretty good deal.

The main features I need is lock/unlock/trunk, Heating/AC on, Long range, RPM monitor to re-attempt start if failed the first time, and Heated seat control.

I have 2 different wiring diagrams right now, but no pictures to accompany them, so if anyone has pictures that'd be good.

Also, I am not sure if I need any other modules. I am confident in my ability to splice into the system without issue, so I dont think Ill need harnesses if Diagrams are good enough.

I mainly am looking for tips before I begin this investment.

Thanks for your time everyone!

Best bang for your buck is to get the factory remote start installed if you can. If you have the RPO code of AP8 you can grab a 05 BCM and key fobs, and have the dealership activate it.

Where do I check for that code?

Also does the BCM change between GTP/GT/STANDARD Models? I have a 2004 GTP.

Finally, It seems like a 5 button keyfob is $50 and a BCM is $40, which is I am assuming just 1-way communication.

I would probably rather get the Viper 5301 for that price if I can win the bid, Because it is 2-way and it tells you when the car is warmed up enough to get in, with realtime temperature updates.

Do you know if the factory is 2way?
