difference between 04-05 gtp and 06-07 gt?

quick question regarding the differences, i have an option to buy an 05 gtp and an 07 gt, they both have supercharged motors, but are they different in anyway?


also did 06-07 gt grand prix have the comp g packages?
 


Hey Miller, hope i can help. Anyway, actually, the GTP and the GT are two different packages, as im sure you know. Only one of which is actually supercharged, which is the GTP CompG, not the GT. I dont see how the GT you're talking about is supercharged unless it is an aftermarket installed supercharger. Not downing you or calling you a liar, but what is it they say..."an informed consumer is a better consumer" or something like that. Anyway, iirc the Competition Group ("CompG") stopped in 05, they started doing the GXP in 06 instead. There are a few differences in the interior of the GTP vs the GT, such as Heads Up Display, Tapshift, and i think the GTP may have a lil more chrome on the inside than the GT. and, oh yeah, of course the GTP has leather interior. You can get leather interior on the GT but it costs extra. The suspension may be a little different/better on a CompG vs a GT because it is a "Competition Group" package. Hope this helps! Not all GT's in 2007 have supercharger, as many of the SE packages were pasted as GT, but were NA.

As for 2005, if its not a GTP, it's not supercharged. 2005 was also the only year of the GTP and GXP as model options. In 2006, the GTP was dropped.

Agree with above that if you found a 2005 GT with supercharger, its been swapped.

Like FFDP said the thread is ancient. Also OP never said anything about an 05 GT being supercharged. Also, there were Special Edition base and Special Edition GT's. All 06 and 07 GT's were supercharged. Just because someone doesn't know the difference and call's their 06-08 NA a GT, doesn't make it so. There was no 08 GT.
