diff wont come out

I went to take out my diff. yesterday cuz its destroyed and it wont come out...its like its stuck on something on the drivers side... I MADE SURE I TOOK THE CLIP OFF OF THE SHAFT ON THE DRIVERS SIDE and tried to jiggle it and pull it off from the passenger side but it wouldnt come off. so i got a round metal bar and tried tapping it a little and it gave maybe an inch and then got stuck again...no matter how hard i tap it, it doesnt come out any more and no matter how hard i try to jiggle it and pull on the passenger side it doesnt come out at all. Im starting to think that when my diff started getting chewed up it spit some shrapnel into the splines or something and now its completely stuck...is this trans destroyed or is there some tip/trick for getting it to come out...sorry for the long-winded post but im kind of at a stand still here, my gp's up in jack stands and im driving my moms crap-alier right now, i need help! lol

If the 4 planet/pinion gears on the trans side of the diff are trashed then it may not come out and the ring gear is likely damaged as well. Any chance you could take a pick? After you either pop the output shaft out of the diff or just remove the drivers side axle and snap ring it should slide right out but since that is not the case I would look more into gear damage and that means full rebuild
 
thats what im afraid of... I think im just gonna save up and buy one of your street and strip trannys. also, how much would it be for an upgraded non-hd tranny with the hd diff?
 
Maybe crazy but when I did my diff in June there is alot of play in the drivers CV can you take the drivers side loose and push it out farther on the passenger side? I know the diffs and a PITA because of the snap ring
