Diff Swap Question

Ok I have a 4t65e in a 1999 grand prix that i am putting a supercharged engine into, I also have a 4t60e HD trans out of a 96 supercharged riviera, as far as i know this is a rare option on 96 supercharged GM models only, my question is can i use the diff, the cover and right axle shaft out of the riviera for my grand prix? Also should I use the torque converter?

Honestly it's not even worth the swap.

I'd rather just keep the 3.29 gearing in the GT, we are only talking a slightly stronger diff in the supercharged cars. Not enough to make a huge difference, you likely won't smoke the diff anyway when the transmission blows up. The input shaft or massive slipping happen far more often.

Yeah, the diff is rarely what ends up getting destroyed. I'd be more worried about the input shaft snapping on 3-1 downshifts. The L36 converter is lighter and is a bit looser, I'd use that if you have new hardware to swap flexplates. Or flip a coin and reuse the old bolts with red loctite.

Alright thanks for the input, i haven't heard from anyone i know about the diff going bad anyway. The trans in my grand prix was already rebuilt before i got it, i think it has less than 50k miles on it but not sure and i probably will reuse the converter that is in it already.
