Diff removal

Timing

New member
So as some of you know i found a diff pin in my trans pan the other day. Well i need to swap this thing out. Couple questions.

Do i have to pull both axles or just the pass side?
Should i drop the pan first or just pop off the diff cover?
Anything i should know when trying to replace this pin?
Any other useful info would be great.

When reptile swapped mine out right after I got my car...I only remember him messing with the passenger side.

It can be done with passenger side removal only. Most difficult part is going to be knocking the diff off of the cross shaft as it's held in with a c-clip. Don't try to remove the c-clip itself, there isn't enough room for it to be removed. Tech manual says to use a special tool...but long story short grab a chissel put between drift pin and cross shaft and smack it with a mallet. Diff will come right off.

Thankyou Greg

I cant find his forsale thread with it. How much is he asking?

I also thought about grabbing this compg trans near me with 100k on it for 750 and throwing it in then rebuilding mine over the summer.

Buy my diff;).......$750 for a compg trans is getting raked over the coals man. I just bought one locally with 80k pulled from a wrecked car for $300.
