DIC working?

I was wondering if the "car" on the standard DIC should have the outline litup at any time?

I hope I worded this right. But i noticed a couple times the car on the dash has a line around it. Like a forcefield. any idea?
 


Yes, the graphic is supposed to light. You most likely have a bulb out. I actually removed the bulb from my old DIC, just because I found the outline a bit annoying.
 
I have the graphic of the car. But there have been times that there was a "halo" around the graphic.

Actually, I think it's normal. What I remember being in a Pontiac it has the outline of the car around it..."

An undocumented feature I take it? :-)
