DIC -- JVC Radio

Hey Guys;

I got a JVC Cd player, double din. I ordered the install kit, which was also double din, and it looks great.

2007 Grand Prix GT, no bose, no monsoon, no onstar, and no heads up display.

I got everything going, and am quite happy with the system so far.

I did lose my warning chimes, I wanted them gone. I also snipped off the front left speaker, from the harness below, so they stay off.

I lost the dic telling me what day it is, and I want that back.

I have the relocation wiring harness, it is installed now, and I can put the factory radio in the trunk.

My stock factory radio is broken, it won't power on, I need another.

Will I need to get the ebay stock factory radio programmed?

All I want is my DIC to display the date, nothing else.

Thanks

The Universal GM adapter, 10 bucks at walmart, has all the wires labeled.
The relocation harness, 20 bucks off ebay, has all the wires labeled.

The extra work = Hiding the harness & getting 2 brackets from lowes, some self tapping screws, and putting the radio in the trunk.

The relocation harness also has some relays built into it, I think they are for the retained power option, but I am not sure. A PO had tapped into the fuse box, and ran a red wire over to the radio location, I used it instead.

I tried to install a JVC into my 05 Grand Prix a few days ago but we coulnt get the day/date to show up either. I had already paid for an instal at Future Shop so we left it. I got it back today and the guy says that the day/date is set up through the factory decks clock and there is no way to keep it.

Does anyone know if this is true? If it is I just burned $70 for assuming that was what the C2R-GM24 PAC replacement interface was for. I have door chimes and they sound like crap now coming from this thing.
