DHP pcms

TheOtherNick

The mod from over yonder
Since the tuning section gets no hits I am putting this here. I went to tune a car and found out it had a dhp 1.o pcm, and my tuner would not open the file it read from the pcm. So if a car has been tuned by a dhp tuner will it do the same thing? I have an hp tuner and would like to know, before offering to tune peoples cars that have all ready got a tune from someone else with a dhp tuner.

Yep... DHP tunes can not be edited or opened by a HP tuner... .Now what im not sure of though is if you take a stock bin file and edit it will it let you write the new bin file on the DHP PCM....

Pretty sure you can completely erase the PCM and write a stock file onto it and put the vin# in...but not sure how that goes since I don't tune. Wonder why we do all these tunes here in KC? Because the DHP Powertuner we had a couple years back read EVERY PCM...locked or not...it was odd. So we have all the bin files because of it...

You can actually do a "hard write", and override the PCM with a new file/VIN. Sometimes it says that the PCM file / OS do not match, which is normally not a big deal. The worst it can do is brick the PCM, or make it impossible to use HP Tuners at a later date if these don't match. There is a way with all tuners to lock the pcm, but I've never locked any of mine, it's not magic and not a big deal to me if anyone sees what I do.

Yeah I was getting the Pcm/OS do not match error, so just have to do a full write and then change the vin back.
