Heres a update on my coolant issue, took the car back on firday, they performed another pressure check and used the ultraviolet light says they cant detect any leaks, went and looked at a couple other gp and a impala.Think im gonna stick with the gp over the impala.I have a 30 day exchange warranty that i will take use off. After looking at the other cars backed out ,got out and low and belohld coolant on the fresh snow, went home left it for a few hours to cool down went back out and backed it out and guess what, you got it coolant spots funny thing is at the dealership when i looked at the coolant spots found a couple of hard little green pellets? any ideas. The gp im lookind at is excatly like the one i got stealth grey and only 24000ks.
The spots were just oppisite the front passenger wheel.green pellets? Not likely from Dexcool. However where were the coolant drops related to the engine?
No not the drivers, imeant just inside the pass side.I wonder if it the bottle just overflowing cause according to the gm shop foreman the fill level is right above the return line to the rad?.
I would like to add a comment to this that will hopefully be helpful. When you buy a car from a dealership they are trained to tell you they have the best cars and nothing will ever go wrong with them, so when you take it in for warranty work at the dealer of course they aren't going to tell you they forgot to fill it with coolant when it is checked off on the delievery check sheet. For them to admit that there is a legitament problem with your vehicle would be admitting to their incomptence because they have blown you off for this long. Here is what they train their incompentence reaasure the customer that they purchased a quality product, then tell them it's an intermittent problem and it's common for new vehicles to have a few bugs as they break in. Then when all else fails be a complet a hole and hope the customer goes away. Just make sure you get invoices to record all the times you took it to the dealer to get this problem resolved. You can always take it to another dealer or an independent shop to get another opinion.
