Delayed Shift?

EDIT: The title should not say when in Performance Mode, this happens in both modes. It is just more noticeable when not in perf shift mode.

This has been an ongoing thing for quite some time now, but I never got around to truly ironing it out. It seems my transmission has its 'days'. For example, I usually run in performance shift mode, and most of the time (80%), the shifts are firm, no hesitation, no slip, nothing that would throw a red flag. However, for the other 20% of the time, it will take its time to shift. It shifts firm 100% of the time when WOT, but when not WOT, the shift in perf mode is comparable to the typical shift without performance mode. When perf shift is off, the shift has a 1-2 Error of 6.73 seconds. I'm pretty sure that 2-3 and 3-4 are similar too, but I am not sure.

I was going to do a run and post a Torque screenshot of shift times and errors, but my car decided to blow a coolant hose and puke EVERYWHERE. I'll upload it tomorrow.

I was thinking it may have something to do with vac, because when me and a friend installed a new water pump, he broke a t-connecter for a vac line and it shifted like it does now. Needless to say, we fixed that promptly. Any ideas?

Tune aka tune up has a lot to do with how our cars shift. The PCM shifts based on available power etc. Things you might not be able to feel or see.

Ensure your plugs, wires are good, maf and TB are clean, and that the map sensor is connected. I would always suggest checking/doing those things first as they are low cost and effect things greatly.

Would the sensors mentioned throw codes? I have the Torque app and they appear to be functioning properly, no codes at all. I did do cheapo plugs (per my father) about 30,000 miles ago, along with OEM wires. I'll check out the TB today.
