defroster isnt working and other issues

So I noticed a weird smell in my car a couple days ago when running the heat. Along with the weird smell, my defroster wouldn't work, but it still blows air..

I can hear it still blowing air on the windshield and when i max it out it seems to be blowing both warm and cold but its not defrosting at all

Also today was the first time i ran it in the daytime and when i run the heat, which works, it also blows out a oderless smoke, almost like a vapor, and the whole car filled with this vapor, which was freaky as f*ck, so i turned it off.

Any suggestions?

Yep sounds like the heater core or the hoses leading to it has sprung a leak...

Well is it a easy fix or solution to this or do I need to bring it into a shop

I'm going to bring it into a gm dealership sometime soon here, thanks for the info mrlogic.

If you have time and a heated garage, you can do this yourself and save the $$$ that the dealer will rape you for.

When I did mine I looked at the price for shop charge. Hell could be from the 450+.
Really not hard to do. $100 for core and some anti-freeze.

Problem is it's cold outside. I did mine in October.

Yeah its terribly cold, I'll ask around see what quotes I get before I make my decision.
