Debunking the K&N Myth!

A must read article on the web, just type that in search and read it. I use to run K&N in all my cars but took them out after reading it. Unless you have done major performance mods all you are doing is letting in a lot of dirt into your engine. I am a GM Parts manager and use to sell lots of K&N filters but the stock A/C Delco is the best!!

So if you do major mods the dirt will magically fly back out of the filter?

Right... its called oil the filter properly.

99% of the people here interested in anything remotely close to performance don't even have their stock air boxes anymore.

I did have a K&N filter over oiled from the factory and had to clean the MAF sensor within a few weeks. The regular paper filters seem like less of a hassle to me.

When it comes down to CLEANING yes the stock paper air filter does a better job.

K&N is a combination for airflow and cleaning.

Now if you want the flow of a K&N and the cleaning of a paper air filter go with amsoil filter.

im not sure about the cleaning of a filter or how to oil a filter. i tried searching. could someone point me in the right direction here.
