In may, on my 50th birthday, I bought a 2000 gtp daytona. It had high miles and I got it for a bargain...I put some money into it, a new front wheel bearing, new front brakes, new belts, news tranny filter, key fob, had it detailed, changed the dic, really put some love into, and I really liked the car. but it always ran hot. then i started to lose coolant. I thought it was coolant elbows and planned to change them. then I started to lose a lot of coolant. then i found the dreaded milkshake in the oil. this week my friend and i changed the lower intake gasket and the supercharger gasket and thermo stat. and changed the oil and coolant. took it for a test drive. 6 miles in, the dreaded chirping from the engine, followed by the knocking. spun bearing. I can't afford a new engine or to rebuild this one, so my "silver bullet" is for sale and my dream is dead. it has all the options and the body is good. see my ad in the for sale section.
 


That is not good.. I am sorry to hear it.... A new motor should be fairly cheap.... But regardless I feel for ya...
 
You do not need a "new" engine, per se. A complete working L67 is fairly cheap nowadays. I'd dig around and see if you can't come up with a local bargain on a good used lower mileage either at a yard, on eBay, craigslist or off this site.

I'll do that...a quick search has turned up a few in the 5-to-700 dollar range. And then paying to have it swapped...i don't have the facilities to do it. i'm still in shock. thanks for the advice.
 
:( Sucks to hear! But engine swap shouldn't be more than a grand if you get everything you need right and maybe have some people offa here help ya?

On the fourm can be found for around 300. Theres a block on here bored over .030 with new pistons and everything for 325 throw your top half on it and boom new motor
