Dash mount dual gauge pod

I'm in the process of fabbing this up and wanted some opinions on view angle and what not. I have the pod itself but will have to mod it to fit the GP dashtop. It appears that if I locate it near the left side near my triple A-pillar pod that it cuts down a LOT of that line of site. Does offer a good view of all the gauges at a glance but I'm not sure it's a great idea to eat up even more of my viewing area on that side.

That being said I have given thought to moving it over to where the curve of the dash drops down and meets the flatter face of the airbag/glovebox area. No, I won't put it near the airbag cover so don't worry. I'd have to angle the pod a bit so I can see it without taking my eyes off the road too much but that wouldn't be a huge deal and wouldn't impede the line of sight as much. Just be an extra hump in the middle and honestly isn't much taller to look over than the back edge of my F1 hood. Also this pod has a lip/shroud around the front edge to try and keep the sun off the gauges (they're covered 1 1/2" on the sides and 2" around the top).

Anyone ever mount a gauge pod near the center of the dash or am I just going to wing it?

i got a dual pod for the dash. i put it right next to the a pillar, its not in my line of sight at all. unlike a big fat 3 gauge a pillar one would be.

Is your's the ZZP pod that mounts around the HUD?

I have to keep the 3 gauge a pillar I have now + add the dashtop one. I might just have to copy my dash mount one out of cardboard or something and see how much I can cut it to make it useable on the other side of the dash. Between the crest of the hood, the existing a pillar gauges and the new dash mount it doesn't feel safe to me to loose that much visibility. I literally loose like 2 feet of view. I can only see from the middle of the drivers side cowl exit on the F1 hood and over to the right. Even if I cut the pod down on the bottom (which I will have to do anyway) I can't see me gaining that much back, but once I mock something up I'll give it a try.

This might require a pic to show what I'm looking at.

not a zzp pod. its a 8 dollar ebay dual dash pod.

what if you push it closer to the windshield ? mines at the edge of the dash pad, then theres maybe 4 inches to the glass at the bottom of it. i can just get my hand between the pod and glass to clean it.

the only issue i see with right side of the dash is drilling a hole to run the wires to it.

I'll try and push it back further on the drivers side and see what I get, but it may end up changing the angle too much to be useable. I'd only want to cut the bottom off to where the 2 mold lines meet on the frontside.

If that doesn't work then I may move it around on the right side some. I could possibly move it back far enough to where the split between the dashpad and the front plastic cover is and just sneak the wires between there. Or move it more even with the front edge of the dash and try to see if I can run the wires between the dash bezel and the top. Dunno, just looking for ideas.
