so i live in CT, we got A LOT of snow, and i was driving home from work sunday afternoon and my car not so happily met its new buddy mr. guard rail while attempting to make a turn. I wasnt going overly fast or driving like a prick either... i was going about 15, had to make a 90* right turn and got on the brakes a bit harder and slightly turned the wheel and i just plowed forward and the ABS kicked in kicking the pedal back and the front wheels wouldnt bite the ground so forward i went...

it had a lot to do with me tires tho, they're touring tires that are rather low on tread and i found out those dont grip well in snow. however i did manage to get the car turned enough so i hit the guard rail and an angle and it just kinda pushed my car off to the side and i got very minimal damage luckily- a good portion of paint off the driver side corner of my front bumper and a nice scuff mark in my corner headlight lens, and no damage anywhere else.

sadly thats only half of the story, i work 30 minutes from home, on a good day, going a little over the speed limit. seeing aas how my girlfriend lives between work and home i just went to her house and spent the night there. i go out to move my car the next morning and i hear a pop, i figured it was just ice breaking... i sit in my car and theres a bunch of cracks running through my windshield. then i get out of the car and i hear the pop again... my fender is binding with my door and i know thats a b*tch to fix cuz i had to do that with my passenger fender back in august. im guessing a tree branch fell on the windshield during the storm and idk about the fender, the only reason i hesitate to say it was when i made contact with the guardrail is because the 2 times i opened the door that day i didnt hear the pop but idk what else it could be from... anyways thats my fun story of the weekend :th_exploding:

well when it was all said and done between 1 foot and like 18 inches i think... at the time i was driving there was maybe an inch on the ground and yea well i didnt turn the wheel going 15 thats when i started to get hard on the brakes, then tryed to turn probably more around 10.
and just now on my way home from work i got a ticket for speeding and passing on the right. wonderful. 381 dollars. ill probaqbly plead not guilty or talk to my gf's cousin who is a state trooper and try to get out of it idk this week has not been very good for me tho

dude that sucks sorry to hear that. Yea those 90degree turns are a killer. A couple of weeks back we had our first snowfall here where i live. I was out fooling around with some friends, (im riding in my friends car.) We enter a parking lot to do some fun and my friend enters pretty fast, maybe at 20-30kmh and takes a right turn instead of going straight. He under steers and hits the curb with the wheels fully turned to the right, he totally bent the **** outa his driver side front wheel. Cost him 1200$ lol
