CV joint/Axle Question??

Well it looks like my right CV joint seams to be squeaking while i turn and getting worse every day so its time to change them out what do you all recommend as far as axles go? Should i just buy HD ones or stage 2 axles from ZZP?

CV joints and axles time?

Nope get Napas or oem.

Don't fall for ZZP gimmick they fail just as fast from what I hear

Re: CV joints and axles time?

Ya i wasnt going to buy their "Stage 1" axles i would buy them from NAPA but was wondering if the stage 2 were worth it and also if the WBS ones were better then the NAPA ones

Re: CV joints and axles time?

Hmm $550 for stage 2 ^_^. I would still get them Napa why because if you have a issue they're right there and come with some type of warranty.. I'm sure wbs doesn't. Can't comment on their quality though but things like that I rather buy locally in case there is a issue. Spend your money elsewhere.

Re: CV joints and axles time?

Ya makes since.. i think WBS has a 1year warrenty..but like you said if Napa does then i might as well buy them from there.. it would be easier to return them

Re: CV joints and axles time?

Yup and axles are like hubs on our cars you will eventually have to replace them lol easier to keep things local

Re: CV joints and axles time?

Get the best warranty local on a rebuilt OEM axle. The new ones (china) are cheap and have been none to snap in half.

I personally bought a used one from Morad.

Re: CV joints and axles time?

I put rebuilt ones in mine. Limited lifetime warranty. $81 for both of course mine is just for driving I don't race or anything. Then rebuild the ones you take out. Easy to do I did mine myself and all this crap is new to me.

Re: CV joints and axles time?

My passenger side is also making noise I believe. Its been slinging grease under the hood for a while. I almost wanna say hub bearing but the noise is a little different. At 125k miles its probably my axle right?

Re: CV joints and axles time?

Does it make a noise while going straight? If so then its prob the wheel bearing especially if its a grinding noise... but if it makes a noise while turning then will most likely be the CV joint on the axle

Re: CV joints and axles time?

^^If it is slinging grease then it's gonna be the axle and like said above depends on when its making noise.

Re: CV joints and axles time?

Oh didnt see ths slinging grease thing lol... ya its time for new axles like mine :th_winking:

Re: CV joints and axles time?

Both axles on my car slang grease everywhere. With gobs of it on the subframe. Had no issues with them yet *crossesfingers* when my wheel bearing went bad it made noise when I turned on like s curves

Re: CV joints and axles time?

Well in my experience a bad hub bearing will make noise going straight and get louder when u turn. One way being louder than the other. This makes noise going straight and in both directions lol r these things worth rebuilding?

Re: CV joints and axles time?

Hey quick question. . So I ordered my axles from Orielys and got the GTP passenger side one.. I remember reading somewhere that the splines might be different from the GT? Will I be able to use these or will I have to end up buying the whole HD diff for the install?

Re: CV joints and axles time?

As far as I know the splines should be the same, and iirc the only difference is the gtp passenger side axle is shorter than the gt.

Re: CV joints and axles time?

Hmm so it being shorter will that create a problem lol how much shorter are we talking here?
