custom intake help

Banned Trolling GPF
hey guys i just went to home depot today and got some PVC piping, i got a 45 degree angle one and i got an adapter that would get it to 3 inches from 4 inches
also i bought two 4 inch couplers there

they didnt have the air filters, so i went to advanced auto parts
bought the longer of the two spectre filters...looks awesome

the whole thing put together is 16 inches long, i am not sure about if its gonna fit...i can probably trim atleast an inch off of the adapter thing...

just kinda wanna know whats up, and show off what i did on the spur of the moment...

thank you for all input, and i hope this will work how i want it to, otherwise ill just put it on the throttle body

Mounting it to the throttle body is not the most ideal thing depending on mods done to the car.

Lower mods, better off not doing a open cone..

I think you'll be fine, if not, you can always take off some of the extra pcv you bought and try different things, don't be to afraid to have a shorter intake (Just a bend and couplers)

what you gonna do with the iat????

i will make it work...im so excited, i kinda want to go and do it now...i honestly dont know how to take the stock airbox out and stuff, is there stuff to unplug? i will kinda wing that also

and the IAT idk yet...i might do like wark and drill a hole, but idk considering it could fall out, but idk if i even need that thing...i could just leave it hang

i hope mine blows me away hahaha...

and i bet mines gonna be a pain also, but idc how hard it is gonna be, ill get it to work

feels awesome...technically its not my first, my biggest maybe...my first id say was debadging, but i might have to give it to flipping the dogbones earlier today

my intake is 100% done now, i strapped down the PCM, drilled a hole for the IAT and got it secured to the throttle body a lot better than it was before, plus i moved a wire thing out of the way so it might get more flow

the PCM got a chain of zip ties tied around it...i kinda made a ghetto chain out of them and somewhat secured it...

you cant really see it very well...but i took it around under it and around a beam thing on my car in the front, and then made like a sub chain over it

i wuv my new intake, and i wuv i when it goes vroom vroom

Good job. Check the hose clamps once in a while and be careful when pressure-washing the car.

Is that a dry flow or oiled filter?

it is a oiled...and yeah, i suppose when you pressure-wash there is a chance you could get it into that filter isnt there?
