Curious of upgrades

Hello everybody. My name is Bill and I am new here to the site. I am purchasing a 2005 GTP Comp G and want to upgrade the engine. I am looking for help because I am new to the Grand Prix scene. I owned a 2002 WS-6 T.A. and a 1970 Olds Cutlass. But this is a little different world to me. So any help would be appreciated. My goals would be to run in the mid to high 12's but still streetable and even consider a turbo instead of the supercharger. :th_devil: Well looking forward to talking to you all and thanks for your help.
Bill

180* thermostat, headers, CAI/FWI/open cone, TUNE, fullsize intercooler, smaller pulley, TUNE, colder plugs, 42# injectors, TUNE, cam/rockers, shift kit/upgraded tranny

Did I mention to make sure you get a tune?

If money isn't an issue...Z7 Turbo Kit...Intercooled with stage 4 cam and heads. Get a race transmission from Dave at Triple Edge Performance ;) Go big or go home :D If you stay supercharged...

Open Cone Intake
180* Thermostat
Custom Tuned PCM
42.5# Injectors
Stage 2 Intercooler
Headers of some kind
Custom Grind Cam (Talk to Paul @ PRJ Performance)
ZZPerformance Modular Pulley System: 3.0" or 2.8"
Custom Head Work...Spend the money and get it done right ;)

Other than that...both setups should run you less than 10 grand. The blower setup would "technically" be more street-able but the turbo build will run circles around it...man I wish I had money :p

Thanks everybody for your responses. So I take it the trannys in this things are pretty weak? TDC you said for 7500 you can make it happen? Whatcha got for me ? So they said you were in the 12's...was it streetable and did you drive it everyday or was it a weekend warrior? Thank goodness my commute to work is only 2.5 miles now as opposed to 72 round trip that I used to have! BLAH!!!!!! Lol. And Thank you BlueGTP91 for the in depth break down. I see you are selling your car too. How come man that thing is sweet other than needing to finish up that motor AGAIN. Is reliability a problem with this things? Well gotta get ready for work but I will catch up with you cats this evening. Thanks again
BILL

You'll need a transmission by Dave. That's going to run about 2700 bucks, Intercooler ect. Basicly everything that has been mentioned above.

My car was a daily driver. It was the only car I had. It ran fine. Reliability wise just as good before I did anything to it.

If your going to go to this level then you need to learn how to tune with HPTuners. There is no way around it. Don't even think about getting a pre tuned PCM. And a custome tune would just be wasting your money at this point.

Unless your me. I never have luck with cars...mine just needs a good owner. I hate my car and it hates me...feeling is mutual. I beat the crap out of it and she blows up.

TDC was mid to low 12's IIRC. He had a intercooled, XP cammed setup. It also depends where you're running these cars...Mid to low 12's here in the midwest might be llow to mid 11's elsewhere...eg: Eastcoast.

And x1 MILLEEEEEON on the transmission from Dave. Check him out at www.tripledgeperformance.com Awesome transmission. YouTube - Modded GTP 20 Roll

^^ That should help you decide :D

how could you give up the T/A?:th_scratchhead: you could have got that car into 12s much more easier and for less money than this compG.
but like said if youre willing to fork out alot of cash it can certainly be done.

Pure Evil Z28 I gotta say I was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO disappointed to get rid of the TA:th_crying1:and the Cutlass also. My Cutlass was a 10.50 car with all Olds power and the TA ran best 12.98 with a set of tires and an new air box and filter.I had to sell them both to relocating due to no where to store both of them. Like I said not one of my better moments in life!

BlueGTP91 is your car still for sale? Man that is one nice looking ride. I really like what you did with it. Its clean and simple. Nice Ride!!!! I am just curious cause you don't find em that way to often. I am starting to think this clown I am trying to buy this GTP from is clownin' me!
