Cruise control not working as well as hud!!

Hi I just bought a 98 Grand Prix gtp absolutely love the car there are some very minor issues with it and the main one is that the cruise control doesn't work!


Also the hud doesn't work at all I turned the car on at night and looked into the hud from outside the car and it doesn't light up at all I'm just assuming its a bad hud I can just buy a new one from a junk yard unless there's anything else anyone knows about on how I could possibly fix it?


Well back to the cruise control it doesn't work does anyone have any suggestions on how i could go about fixing it?
 


check the cable connector, relay, fuses??

HUD might be lose connector, the Dim switch on the HUD that was my issue was the dimmer switch to the HUD had to turn it up lol

When you press the cruise button does the light even come on?

the little thing that holds ur spring for the mirror in the hud unit may have broke easy fix. if you look up towards the top of the glass u might see it. also if ur center tail light is out cruise control doesnt work
 
Awesome thanks for the info guys ill try all these ideas out and hope they work but yes my middle tail light in the back window is out both bulbs are so I'm hoping its just the bulbs and nothing major

and the cruise control light doesn't show up when I try turning it on

Well I replaced the 3rd brake light bulbs they were both blown and the cruise control still doesn't work but the hud just randomly turned on after I did that but it fades in and out as if someone was turning the dimmer up and down but it goes off all the way then I hit my dash lightly where the hud is and it'll turn back on for a little bit.

So does anyone have anymore ideas as to how I could fix these problems still?
 


I did some more research and found out you can do some soldering on the hud to fix the dimming problem it works perfectly fine now so now I just need to fix the cruise control problem
