Cruise Control Module

HI there,

Bought my GP tonight. Tried cruise and didn't work, i believe it to be Module. Where is the cruise control module located? Is it hard to get at?

My third brake light is working fine.

Its easy to get to.

It could be the module or the rest of the controls in the multifunction switch.

If you follow the TB, one cable goes into the firewall, the other goes into cruise box.

Where are you located? I have a known good box/cable assembly for a 97-03.

Quick response.. Thanks Matt, i'm in Belleville Ontario, moving to Ottawa in a month or so.. will that even work for a 2004? I'm going to first fix the solder points on the module, thats usually the culprit for failed components.

Hmm, you might be out of luck there.

Your vehicle is DBW.

The cruise should be controlled by the DBW activation of the throttle plate.

Well I will check the fuse.. From my past, when doing a cold solder point fix, what ever it is that controls the cruise just had bad solder points. I do not know a DBW. All I know is when I turn on the cruise, my cruise light does not illuminate which is usually a sign a a module.

I was reviewing the book and i see there is a fuse and a relay for the cruise.

Looks like there is a fuse, but no module.

BCM, throttle actuator and PCM all communicate together.

No cruise module.

Unsure.

Heres this:

alright, according to that diagram, there is a fuse block under the hood I need to check near strut tower. It also has the display fuse.

we checked codes and I am pulling up a P0608 Code. Which is linked with the PCM i do believe.. But not exactly sure.

If anyone has more info on that code, please let me know.

On another note, I was incorrect, when i hit set of the cruise, the display does come up on the dash saying Cruise Set. It just doesn't drive. Just coasts.

VSS output circuit.

I need to find more on the VSS. From what I am seeing, everyone is saying about replacing a wire on the VSS.. But thats more for people wanting to hook it up to their HU for auto volume. When I drive, my speedo works, my volume goes louder on the radio as I go faster.

Dark green wire is TAC? (Throttle Actuator Control) Are these easy to fix? Could that cause the cruise not to work?
