• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

We're going to be swapping this into a 98 GT 2-door. Picking up the engine this week sometime so we can start the build on it.

Even with roller rockers, I would not do O/R pushrods. You want things oiled up top and there isn't much of a difference. Lubrication is key.

I'd add on an oil pressure kit. Intense sells them.
Thought the L32 piston skirt area was stronger. Might aim for that.
You can not run stock heads with only a valve job. That cam requires a minimum retainer to valve seal clearance of .600", stock is much less.
Do not swap from stock coils down the road. MSD's are known for breaking down at high rpm and causing issues in a year or less. Stock are the best you can get.
I'd also see about a Gen V. Much cooler charge than a ported Gen 3.

Questioning your need for a S3X cam. You won't flow enough air through a stock head or a Gen 3 where I can see it being beneficial. I'd suggest either upgrading to ported heads or sticking to soemthing like a S1X and then you could use lower rate springs, stick with titanium retainers for light weight and save money.

Built 282 5-spd swap. :)

The heads will be ported, a good friend builds high performance engines and he is going to do the heads. He's good, just did the heads on my LQ9 for my 98 Trans Am.

We'll keep stock coils.
Will go with stock style pushrods.
Oil pressure kit we'll look into as well.
We'll look for some L32 pistons, I was wondering about that.
We already have the Gen 3, but we'll keep our eyes open for a Gen V.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around these engines. I've been a Pontiac V8 and LSx guy for so long now, it's a different beast all together.

And life is easier because there are two head options.

Stock.

ZZP aluminum.

Thats it.

Every other part usually follows the same concept.

Very limited choice in what you can go with.
