Crank position sensor

Ok I've been told one I replace my crank sensor I'll have to get it relearned or something like that,is there anything I can buy to do it at home, some say you do it with a obd scanner with something built in it,I'm not to sure,I need some help

I was told that when I dropped my motor in my car. I used the low mileage L26 crank sensor with my fresh tune. I was quite surprised when I turned the key and my car fired right up. LOL I'm not sure what constitutes a "relearn". IIRC and I'm not confused about the VATS system (or passkey thing whatever it's called, I have to many cars) I think it's something you can do without a tuner???

Not to ask a stupid question, but what motor do you have?

I know it's the supercharged section, but I goofed up and posted in the wrong section yesterday so it happens.. LMAO

What you will need (you'll have to look at the thread linked above) and get the right bolts to use for the puller. I believe they are M6x1.00??? maybe 75 - 80mm long with washers so the head of the bolts will not slide through the puller openings.

Also, research how to use your starter to break your bolt loose. I have never used this method, but I have heard about it. I personally wouldn't do it do to breaking something, but if others have tried it would be easy.

^^^ x2, rent the puller and buy the right bolts... you'll be out $4 at most overall...

The harmonic balancer on the 3100 is coming off slightly and what money I was going to use is in my pay pal plus I may need it but would just any pulley remover work with it cause I got one from advance when I replaced my power steering pump but I think I may have misplaced it

The front main seal is what the balancer slides into. It seals so oil doesn't leak. I was suggesting it because you will be right there, you'll just have to remove the old one and tap in a new one before you put things back together. (I'd get a GM one, they are like $16 at most I believe.) You can leave it alone, but if you have high mileage and start fooling with it by sliding the balancer on and off it might not seal back up properly... I just always have preventative maintenance on my mind.. :D

And yes if I remember correctly a crank pos sensor going out will cause your RPM hand not to work.
