cradle spacers for gen v

fbm

New member
I have a 2001 gtp I have a hood with heat exchangers not on the vehicle yet i am installing a gen v on a s2 intercooler with a ported l67 tb and I have vogtland springs. what do I need to get to get some hood clearance and not have axle vibration. I was thinking of installing cradle spacers and engine/transmission spacers but the trans spacers will raise the engine I installed shorter dog bones but the full exhaust or something was rubbing in park on a incline and reverse so I removed them and I slotted my dog bones it helped but I still have some vibration would the cradle spacers be enough to get hood clearance without flipping the t.b. I don't want to change the maf geometry

I think it's more like the axle is bad but the shortening my dog bones really helped before I installed the springs then it came back a little

I am just wondering what are my options or problems I am going to come across for installing the gen v with l67 tb

I've done that, too. You have to get an adapter from the Gen V to the L67 TB. Then you have 2 options for functioning PCV, the throttle body adapter can be drilled for the PCV vacuum line or you can drill\tap your L67 TB. I did the conversion\upgrade\change whatever you wanna call it a few years ago, before the TB adapters were drilled for PCV, so I drill\tapped my TB. Now I'd go with the adapter, it's all bolt-on. There's a member that sells VERY nice adapters, let me find his thread...

As far as your vibration, if you had to put shortened dogbones in with stock suspension you have a problem. I'm thinking it's an axle.

The vibration was not That bad but with the slotted stock dog bones it was all most gone I installed shorter dog bones but I didn't like them it was too aggressive I am not really worried about that for now what I am worried about is the gen v swap I already drilled my t.b. because I have a s2 intercooler I bought cradle spacers but do I still need to flip my t.b. and would a hood with heat extractors
