Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Hi diddly ho there *****es. Yeah I know I've been absent forever but I'm needing a little help.

About three weeks ago my car died out on me. Battery light came on 2 minutes later there's no power. So I jumped it, got it to a shop and had some alternator wires replaced, they said they were just rusted through. I picked it up from the shop and my mother was driving it home and it died out again. The shop took it back scratched there head and after a few days of head scratching gave it back to me.

It behaved for a few weeks, although the tach did die out a couple times on the highway. The car would shudder a bit but then would drive normally with the tach on 0 until the car was turned off.

Today however the car shuddered like it does when the tach dies but then the oil light ( the old oil can one) and battery light came on, the car died, power steering locked up but the power ( radio, hazards, gauges) stayed on.

I know it's usually a crank sensor when the tach dies out, and that would cause the sudden stalling but having the lights go on is confusing me. Any ideas? I don't have much time or flexibility to dick around with the car right now I'm working like crazy all week now and have to drive upwards of an hour each way to the new job.

TIA guys

The lights come on just like when you leave the key on with the engine off, just the oil light and battery light stay on.

So when the car stalls they come on.

Replace the crank sensor and it should stop.

ahhh, you think after like 7 years of driving GPs I would have noticed that. So the lights aren't indicating anything, good. I almost shat my self when the oil light came on. Since that's the "replace engine" light.

thanks cam, for making me feel silly
