Couple of questions about adding aftermarket system!

hey guys i just purchased an 04 grand prix gtp with the monsoon system in it. i am looking to upgrade to this headunit Kenwood Excelon KDC-X395 CD receiver at Crutchfield Signature i have done research and have found out that i need this adapter to keep my door chime and alerts and what not. GM Factory Integration Adapter General Motors Class II data bus interface — retains OnStar system, factory door chime, and Bose system with aftermarket radio at Crutchfield.com the headunit has 4v pre outs and i was wondering if this would have any problems with the stock monsoon system? i have heard it could potentially "clip" the interface or something like that. I also plan on adding a sub amplifier as well. will i be able to keep the monsoon system and still have an external amplifier for the subwoofers as well? probably been answered before but i appreciate it!
