was thinking bout completely swapping the engine, but also thought about doing a top swap!!!! if the block is in good condition, would doing a top swap possibly fix any current problems with the engine such as leaks, knocks, ect?.... just trying to figure out what my real options are!

Welcome to the community,

If you're swapping engines you're only swapping what proablems the other engine has into to you're car.

As for leaks,

You would only be fixing leaks on the gaskets you would hve to change in order to do a top swap, such as the lim gaskets (lower intake manifold) ect ect.

As for knocks,

No. If you're engine is experiencing knocking due to an internal problem in the engine a top swap will likley make it worse due to the boost being added.

A top swap is good for making some extra power but if you don't want that you're best bet is to just fix what is wrong.

the only way to find out if the bottom end is okay is to open it up. and if youre that far in you might as well put a cam in it.

Appreciate the feed back guys!! what would b a good choice of cam? and are you talking about adding it during the top swap bio? or just because i would have it tore all the way down at that point lol!!

both. it would help you to not have KR at first when you get it running and would allow a lot more potential out of the car.
