• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Correct my future setup.

Well, as I've been looking more and more into modding my car, I've been wanting to do more than what I first intended to.

Mods now:
SLP catback exhaust
Open cone intake
Autolite 104s
Autolite Professional Wires

Mods I plan on doing:
Aeroforce gauge
180 tstat
Headers
Hi flow cat
Cam
Stage 2 intercooler
42.5 injectors
Drop to x pulley
Some sort of tune

Within the next few weeks, I'll have the steps to safely mod a 3800 vehicle done and over with. So that's out of the way. Is running all of these mods together even possible? Would I need to run a certain type of gas? What extras would I need to buy with the stuff I plan on buying in the future to make sure nothing is in harms way?

I'm just looking to do everything right. Any help given is appreciated. I'll also accept constructive criticism, just try not to rip on me too hard!

Yes.

91+ as per usual.

Might benefit from a tune. If you have to choose between canned tunes, your stock PCM might be better.

Just so you know, you just typed out three grand in engine mods.

Which will let you make more than enough power to start breaking hard parts in your trans if you ever decide to hook.

You also didn't specify a camshaft. That in itself can be a can of worms.

whenever your modded its always good to run 93 oct, i ran 93 when i was stock its only a few cents more and its better so why not get it

I knew it would cost quite a bit, and I'm fine with that. Quick question, though. Would getting rid of my wish for a cam and getting 1.9 rockers be possible with all of the other mods combined?

Yes.

With traction you'd see high 12's.

With E85 you could take that further.

Or you could cam and run even faster times.

Either way, plan on a pricey transmission.

Rockers typically result in buyers remorse, sometimes as immediately as your first WOT run.

You can literally do whatever you want.

What cam and rockers? Sure, just modify the heads for it.

Want heads and rockers? Sure.

Blower and turbo? Sure.

No one and nothing is going to stop you but your wallet/wife.

i have a S2IC and almost have everything for my build im trying to get as much power as i can on my engine with out having to buy a built trans, or blow my stock one up quickly.

you need a budget and depending on what your budget you may want to do the same. thats were you may want to consider how far you go with mods

always remember too, once you do all these mods 42.5# injectors, cam, pulley drop, most likely egr delete if your doing an IC set up your going to need a tune before you can drive it so you would want to look into a wideband and an aeroforce to scan your car

when modding you want to have a budget and plan set just to know what your getting into

Would I definitely need to replace my heads if I went with the rocker setup? Why do people remorse? I was thinking 1.9 modded rockers or maybe an XP Cam. I just don't know exactly what else would need to be upgraded to be able to handle that. What's the most I could get away with without upgrading my transmission?

well...you don't really ever know..my buddies bonneville has to be pushing over 300 wheel easy and he's on a stock tranny with 126k on it. just depends how you drive it. he doesn't launch it alot, mainly hits it after a roll

I would suggest the stock PCM before that.

A dyno tune wouldn't be bad if they understood how a 3800 PCM operates differently from an LS1 PCM.
