cooling fans not operating properly

So my 98 cooling fans arent coming on when supposed to, its a 3.8 l. They come on when the a/c is turned on, the scan tool says it gets to about 109celius and thats when i shut the engine off. guage is reading a little above half. I can only get the fans to work when the a/c is on, when i unplug the sensor with key on, the fans dont start runnning. Any help would be much appreciated as i am driving across 3 provinces tommorow !
 


The fans don't come on until hot normaly, unless the a/c is on.
If your worrried about it, than just drive with the a/c "on".
Personly, I never turn mine off, I just adjust the cabin temp. my car never gets over 210 sitting in traffic with the a/c ON, normal is about 200, and I live in FL.
Now if I do not use the a/c, I will NOT run below 210.
