Coolant leak driver side floor board?



you can by pass the heater core by looping one hose on the alt bracket. no heat but also no more leak.

heater core is a real treat in these cars. (insert sarcasm font here) lol
 


take both hoses off the fire wall. the one with a fatter end remove from the alt bracket, then take the other hose end and clamp it on the alt bracket, aka a loop is made literally.
 
Guess what guys the top hose connecting to the firewall wasn't clamped on tight enough and that was probably causing my coolant to leak

only time will tell. the hoses can also get all worn out and no longer fit tight no matter how tight you clamp them. then can leak.

one of mine did, it did fog the windshield but did not leak inside.
 
I tightened up the hose connecting to the firewall but it's still leaking coolant so should I just loop the hoses?

If you do the heater core yourself, take the front seats out. I think there are 4 bolts to remove and it gives you much more room to work with.

My neighbor wanted me to replace the heater core on his Taurus when he saw me replacing the one on my GP. I looked up how to do it and couldn't tell him no fast enough lol.
 
Ah yes. I remember pulling the dash (twice) in my Mustang to do my heater core. The first time took a few hours. I had to do it again when the 1st replacement failed. The 2nd time was knocked out in under an hour.
