Coolant elbow question

So I had my 99 GTP looked at in December because the coolant elbows were shot, from a quick look they said lower intake but after getting under the hood they said elbows. They also told me coolant was in my oil and I was losing lubrication in my engine. They showed me the oil cap and it was brown and crusty on top and said that was coolant. Made sense. So I changed my oil today and the oil cap looked the same as it did before I had the elbows and flush done... So my question is can coolant even get into your oil through the elbows?? Or is brown crusty crap on the cap normal?

more of a question is, how did the oil look that came out of the engine, was it just black? or milky looking?

some moisture under the oil cap is normal. but if you cleaned the cap and changed the oil and 2 days later its all yellow again you got a lim leak.

Yea GR. So LIM is the only way coolant can enter the oil?? Just wondered why the cap looks the same as it did when they showed me it before the work was done...

It was black but the cap looked like the coolant cap all nasty brown. Maybe it just got never wiped off. I'll have to check it in a few days. Thanks

you should check to see what gaskets your engine has now, look where the lower intake manifold meets the head, if you see a black gasket, you should change the gaskets on general principals. if you see silver you have the upgraded gaskets already.

my old gaskets, plastic, you can see the small ports are cracked where they were leaking.

There is for sure a new silver gasket like above the oil pan. Is that it?? I notice it everytime I change the oil. Thats the only thing silver on the engine... There is oil and crap everywhere... but Whats the best way to get a look at the LIM? Looking under the hood or get under the car?

Basically open the hood and from the drivers side look at where the intake manifold ends near the valve cover. Between the intake and head will be a gasket, its either black or silver.

Pics to help.
