OK I am rebuilding my trans as we speak due to one of my sprang gear shattering.first q is should I change the TC there was some small metal chunks in pan.second is if I do need to should I go with stock stall or change to something else.it is a daily driver but don't know if it will help the trans or hurt it and lastly can I go over board with trans cooler I have two I thought to stack or should I get a big one any thought would be apreciated

It's always helpful to list what you drive. Looking at your name, I'll take a guess.

1. I would definately change the TC
2. Stock stall unless you research and mod.
3. Yes you can. The low end of the normal operating temp is 160F. Being that you live in the US, it has been known in parts to get cold enough that too much cooling can be possible in the winter.

Sorry bout that I was tired.yea I drive an 05 gp gxp no mods I live in CA never really drops below 50 degrees I just want my trans to last as long as possible this is gunna be the 5th one goin in it and I am quite
fed up.don't really plan to mod to much so should I just stay with a stock TC

Double the cooler like you mentioned. You can get pretty hot or not?
Stock converter will keep the temps in the best place

No worries man..I assumed you were a killing a trans a week GXP. I have a local guy that's on his 5th since March. Stock..doing nothing wrong. Seems like there's something a lot of shops are missing in the rebuild.

yea I did drive the car hard when I bought it and that trans lasted 39k then the next died at 72k then the next at 98k then I babbied it to 108k died and now 137k she sits dead again the last 2 were due to TC failing and the rest were clutches and junk
