Conservative gain estimates?

Would anyone disagree with the power gains?

Ported exhaust Manifolds 5 HP
HV3 15 HP
3" Downpipe 10 HP
Open Cone 3 HP
Intense PCM Tune 10 HP

All together I'm sure there would be a cumulative gain and the powerband is affected so the car would accelerate differently. I've seen higher numbers elsewhere but sometimes estimates can be optimistic. Thanks everyone for your input.

I'd say you might see 20 from all of it...the tune will change the feel of the car due to the firmer/higher shift points...it'll feel a lot faster than it really is. only way to tell is take it to the track and run it...then run it with the mods.

well i did a plog dp and hv3 and cone filter gained about 30-35 hp gained just over a second in the quarter mile

I contacted a speedshop around here because I wanted to really see how much of a difference it would make but for 2 dyno runs at $ 100 a piece doesn't seem worth it. I keep going back and forth between this and a top swap. I drive 85 miles per day and my car has to start every morning and take me to work so the playing with a top swap, although I would love the extra power and a new transmission, isn't practical right now. And I can't loose any MPGs. If we get a third vehicle then maybe I would do it.

mpgs don't change much. even check the original ratings, 20 city 30 hwy vs. 19 city 28 hwy.

My goal right now is to keep it reliable and just make it a little more responsive, I think the tune will be great for that.

^ but your used to the car, you probably would cut those numbers down while its still new and exciting, but its worth it imo, plus youll start getting used to it and start to ease off a bit... untill the next mod... and the cycle will continue as such

I'm trying not to start the cycle. :th_biggrin2: There's a great roadcourse in Connecticut and I want to drive it at an SCDA event where they really teach you how to drive. I'm sure that after I learn to drive the car quickly I will be anxious to get more power for the next event.

aaaaarrrrrrrrrrgggggggg i was just in CT bored as hell looking for something to do wtf man, that sounds cool maybe ill go up sometime too

Those real dyno numbers or butt dynos.

no i when to the track stock then whent to the track with the mods picked up over a sec in the 1/4 then i just put the numbers into a hp calc and thats what it gave me whice is pretty close cuz a stock gtp runs high 14s low 15s
