Comp g steering rack nv7/nv8 code??

Anyone know the difference in steering racks with magnasteer....comp g and gxps have nv8 code, SC 04plus cars got nv7...both have variable effort steering, part numbers for nv7 and nv8 are different...rock auto sells a remain ac Delco for a lot cheaper than either units and says it works for both nv7 and nv8....any thoughts on what the actual difference is? Nv8 which is on the comp g has 2 different bolt sizes that hold rack to cradle...got a ebay rebuild and it does not have different size holes in bushings...can u swap bushings over and be fine?..sorry for long post
