Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Common issues w/5.3L GXP cars?

That's about the only real thing I've heard of as well. Couple of buddies have them. There's been mention of disabling the DOD because it'll drive you nuts. I didn't drive the cars enough to notice the desire to kill it.

By keeping an eye he means.

Look at it today - Yep working well
Look at it after a funny shift or slip - Still looks nice.. but uh oh
Look at it after it won't move on it's own - still looking the same externally...but damn.

The burning oil deal is due to the DoD. If you don't have it in DoD often or for very long periods then it isn't an issue. Tuning out the DoD eliminates this issue. My DoD is still active and since I live in a hilly area, it really does not stay on very long and I have yet to add a drop of oil to my LS4.

As with any Pontiac there are issues. Window motors being one of the biggest in my opinion. But as far as the tranny goes, mine does some weird stuff like downshifting when is necessarily shouldn't but it doesn't seem to be damaging at all to the transmission. The temperature of the fluid in the tranny has been an issue with many drivers on this forum but mine consistently maintains a temp well below the recommended maximum temp of the fluid which is 175. D.o.d. As not been an issue for me either as I can't tell when it kicks in unless I'm looking at the "instant mpg" on the info center. Haven't had to add any oil either. Overall, I would definitely recommend this car to anyone as a fun daily driver.
