coils, L67 vs L32

Question, will coils from the L32 engine put out enough power for the L67 engine to run smoothly and efficiently? I know that folks sometimes use coils designed for the L36 on the L67 and find out that just because they fit, that d doesn't mean that they have high enough output for a supercharged motor. Since the L32 is a lower performance motor than the 3800, I just worry that L32 coils aren't up to the task of powering the L67. Anyone have any real life experience in this?
 


the l32 is the newer version of the l67, so they coil packs should not only work, but they will work well.
 
Cool. Thanks. I'm still learning. The info I found when I looked up L32 said that it was an engine used in 93-95 Camaros and Firebirds. I see now that is a 260HP v6 that went in the 04 and up GTPs. I guess I should be fine.
 
I was about to say...the 3.8 used in the camaro's were just L36's. Before that they used the 3.4 V6...epic...TURD
 
uh hello... i am drive a 95 3.4 camaro right now....ok????...........and yes , its an epic turd...it sucks d!ck so bad. belongs to my mom-in-law..did i mention it sucks???? hahaha
 
This is off the l67 torque forum a member did some tests on the different coils because the l67 coils were supposed to be more powerful but we had a lot members running MSD,ecotech and l67 coils without any problems and these guys were seeing 6500 rpm without any inigtion failure
Hi Guys I have been doing a bit of testing with various genuine Holden coil packs. I have 3 sets of l67 coils and 3 sets of standard emotec coils and 1 set of MSD's
I have used the Holden test procedure from the diagram below.

Our results as follows..

As you can see from this the coil packs read on average exactly the same.

So against common belief there doesn't seem to be a difference between blue and white packs.

I called a friend from GMH engine assembly and production last night and he seems to think that the coil pack, DFI and mounting bracket was imported as a unit from the US plant because of the fewer numbers needed for production runs in Australia.

This would explain the different color bases and Part numbers.

The MSD coil packs findings were very different to the specifications on there web site: Go Figure..

i'm glad u are on this site. u have brought fact to this forum and backed it up. even tho u don't have 20,000 post, i'm gonna take ur word on this subject. i have tested this also. one of my gtp coils is an extra one that was from my 3.4 v6 camaro..thats right. i got proof for the nay-sayers.p.s. good job vsl67!!!!!
