Code P0102 + Burning or Leaking 4 quarts of oil within 2 weeks. Any thoughts? Low MPG

I just changed my oil 2 weeks ago. Now low oil light comes on and I drain the oil and there is barely a quart drain out:(

I have a check engine light on with a code of P0102 that came on around the time i started having my low oil light come on months ago before I changed the oil

I either burned or leaked through 4 quarts of oil within 2 weeks. I have not seen any leaks on the ground not to say there isn't any leaks but i have not seen any puddles or anything

I also get low gas mileage

I'm totally frustrated. the car only have 90k miles on it and the car rides smooth

MAF?

And you drive a what??

I'd change the PCV regardless of what vehicle it is, it could help with burning out.

Yes definitely change the PCV first and go from there.

when I tap the MAF the rpm goes up and down. My gas mileage is low as well. I'm thinking the code is the MAF. I remember some time ago i had a bad MAF and and gas mileage on a 2002 impala ls

is there a way to know if the PCV is bad by checking it? Im going to pull it and it and replace it now before doing the MAF

should the code go of or do I have to reset it?

If you can tap the MAF sensor itself and cause the car to rise and fall with RPM, then that is a problem.

The code points towards the MAF sensor, it's either the MAF itself or the wiring in the connector that are bad.

PCV is cheap. Don't bother checking it, just replace and go from there. if your MAF is acting up when you tap it, it's most likely ****ting out

So should I replace the PCV or just replace the MAF or both?

Will those cause massive oil burn 4 quarts 2 weeks?

Yeah isn't the PCV like $3?

Maf is unrelated to you burning oil. It is a separate problem. You could try cleaning it first.

Thanks you all I really think its the PCV thats giving me the code p0102 and the bad oil burning. i dont think its the MAF but im going to clean it anyways right now and replace th PCV and drive around .I can tell right away if it fixed it because I will get better MPG

Autozone is next door to me

hey guys thank you for everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are all awesome!

Well i told you I would report back

went to autozone and i change the PCV which was dirty and had oil on it
I but some MAF cleaner and sprayed the MAF

Started up the car, it took 3 tries

After that it started up i drove it for 5 min cut it off for 5 min and drove it again and cut it off 5 min, after I started it up again my Service Engine light went away!

Fuel consumption seem to be doing better now. Runs even smoother now. im glad you all helped me.

$3 part! I dont know if it was the PCV or MAF needed cleaning but I think it was both because the PCV was looked burnt and had oil on it and the MAF was indeed dirty.

So its all good. I checked my oil right after I turned my car off and it read a half full or whatever, cleaned it off and read it again and it said the same thing. Usually 2nd time checking the dipstick it would read no oil. So im going to let the car cool down and check the oil

I think maybe the PCV had something to do with maybe blocking the oil or stopping it from reading correctly even though I drained the oil today and barely got 1 quart out, but we will see when i recheck it in 15 min. i still think the PCV problem had something to do with it burning the oil

My check oil light doesn't come on either anymore. Saved me lets of money fellas

Just to let you know the PCV is under the MAP sensor on the left side of engine if your facing it, also found out my radiator cap is bad because my upper hose was flatten. put a new cap on and it fixed the problem. The worker said it had something to do with the cap and he was right

My service engine came back on a day later ..MAF?

I cleaned the Maf and change the pcv and the light went off for a day now the light came back on

Replace MAF. If just tapping the sensor cause's issues, chances are the sensor's circuit board is crap. Also Fix the oil leak. you may blow the motor if you don't seal that leak!

I trying to see where it's coming from. I think the maf is bad when I tapped it with a wrench the Rom fluctuate

I keep oil in the car. it's losing about a quart and half a week
