cobra heat exchanger?

Hey guys thinking about piecing a intercooler setup together and was wondering if we could use the heat exchanger off a 03-04 mustang cobra?
 


its been done before and ive seen upgraded cobra FMHE from afco used before too however I have no idea where the threads are........
 
Umm yeah bigger FMHE = bigger temp drop? Maybe im out of my mind but Id just use a radiator from a small car or motorcycle or something.

And for the love of god why doesnt anyone use a FMHE with inlet and outlet on the same side like you can with air to air intercoolers would make the mess of lines so much easier to deal with!!!
 




You flow at 5 GPM and you have 2 gallon system.

you'll have 24 seconds of "cool" coolant.

Most of these systems are 1 gallon.

which leaves you with 12 seconds.... not enough.
 
Or just buy the frozen boost/zzp s2 v1 for 200ish... That's pretty reasonable really for something that fits so well and has the lines already adapted to the size you need and not to mention works great. And then relocate the battery to the trunk so you can put a custom stainless tank for the IC in its place up front. Thats my plan anyway... I got my core soo cheap I can throw a bit of coin into the rest of it, plus my dad is a stainless fabricator lol
 


Wow guys LOL. I mentioned the cobra fmhe because a buddy of mine has one he was gonna give me for 60$....ya or na?.....wanted to start peicing a intercooler kit together little by little...
 
For 60 bones you prolly can't go wrong...considering if it didn't work I'm sure you could turn it around for more.
